Monthly Archives: July 2012
I made this page for display at Regionals last year and completely forgot to post it. This was my first go at vintage.and my last post is inspired by his page. It’s been almost a year since I was game enough to have another go. I’ve used fabric to make the ‘frame’ and used a log cabin quilting look. No sewing, but it is a fairly fiddly technique.
The photo is of my wonderful Mother in Law, Lucy and my son Jake the day of his christening just over 16 years ago. I made his cutey pie outfit for the day and used a heirloom sewing technique called smocking and hand embroidered the little bunnies on the yoke. I just love this outfit – he looked so cute. Lucy is a very talented quilter so I wanted to make a page that represents an important part of her life.

Now I find the vintage style hard…and when I say hard…I mean really hard. I love the look but it just doesn’t come naturally to me. So when I discovered that this week’s challenge over at Simply Stampin Challenges is vintage, I thought it was time for me to have a go. This card is in honour of my talented upline, stampin up bestie and Design Team extraordinaire, Deb Fearns. Her work is so beautiful and every time I see her creations I am envious of her talent. Why not head on over to her blog and have a peek, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been sick for over a week now and haven’t been able to craft and boy is it making me cranky! I hate being sick more than anything. There is nothing worse than being home, alone, bored senseless and unable to do anything because your head feels like it’s going to explode. But I am feeling better today as I finally went to the Dr!
Because I haven’t been able to craft, I thought I’d share a super sweet project from Stampin’ Up!
This sweet project showcases Sweet Shop Designer Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Sweet Cake Stamp Set. I’m so going to miss the Sweet Shop paper when the mini ends – it has been one of my faves (remember my house mini album). I’m not going to miss the stamp set though. Why? Well… because…I couldn’t help myself and had to add it to my stash!
