Colour Blocking

At our last Avid Inkers meeting we learnt about colour blocking using card stock and I’ve finally had the chance to give it a go.  Love love love it!  It’s a very easy way to use up some of your scraps and have fun with colour.

If you would like to give colour blocking a go, check out the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers.

New Stampin Up In Colours

Well my big brown box of fabulous new goodies has arrived.  Happy, happy , happy dance!

This is my first CASE from the new catalogue.  When I saw this card, I just had to try to re-create it.  I’ve used three of the fabulous 2013-2014 In Colours for this project, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar and I just love how these colours work together.  Because I don’t have the markers yet I did have to compromise a little but I think Pear Pizzazz works quite well.

This card is for a special someone and I’ll be popping it in a parcel with a handmade gift that I’ve been working on for some time.  I hope she likes it.

memorable moments case

  • Use your stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the stamp across the card.
  • I’ve used my Pear Pizzazz marker and free-handed the lines, ovals, circles and a border around the stamps.  Don’t worry about perfection, here.  It’s meant to look hand-made remember.
  • Using your trusty paper snips, trim around the edges.

Sneak Peeks:

  • Welcome to the colour range Pistachio Pudding, Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe.  Three of the new In Colours in the 2013-2014 Stampin Up Catalogue (available from 2 July).

Saleabration ends soon…

…be sure to get your order in as there’s only 5 sleeps left.  Boy time flies!  I’ve just realised I haven’t posted at all this month – sorry all – It’s been a bit hectic lately!

I’ve been asked to make some cards for another direct sales friend whom I met recently at a friends party.  She sells Arbonne and I have absolutely fallen in love with the skin care and make up range.  My skin has not look this good in years and people keep telling me I look great so I must be on to a winner.

Anyway…here are two clean and simple cards that showcase the bloomin marvelous Bloomin Marvelous stamp set that I’ve made for her.

  • This card proves you don’t need many supplies to make handmade cards and one layer cards are the way to go when you want something quick and easy.

Autumn Winter Mini Project

I’ve been sick for over a week now and haven’t been able to craft and boy is it making me cranky!  I hate being sick more than anything.  There is nothing worse than being home, alone, bored senseless and unable to do anything because your head feels like it’s going to explode.  But I am feeling better today as I finally went to the Dr!

Because I haven’t been able to craft, I thought I’d share a super sweet project from Stampin’ Up!

This sweet project showcases Sweet Shop Designer Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Sweet Cake Stamp Set.  I’m so going to miss the Sweet Shop paper when the mini ends – it has been one of my faves (remember my house mini album).  I’m not going to miss the stamp set though.  Why?  Well… because…I couldn’t help myself and had to add it to my stash!

Project Supplies
Stamp Set:
Sweet Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper

Just a quick reminder that the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue ends July 31, so if you have something on your wish list, be sure to place your order before the end of the month.

See you next time.

Open Sea

Wow…it’s been a busy month.  Sooo many wonderful products and sale-a-bration freebies – I have had far too much fun!   I’ve had a few workshops, enjoyed a craft night with my Canberra Demonstrator Group, Avid Inkers and this coming weekend, our group is hosting the Nautical Expressions Stamp Camp, using the stamp set that I’m highlighting in this post.   I can’t wait for Saturday!

It’s seems like ages since I have entered a challenge so I thought I’d combine a sketch challenge with a colour challenge and really stretch myself whilst making a masculine birthday card for a special family member.  For some reason, I find it more difficult when I try to combine two challenges.  I’m not sure why but here goes.

I’ve entered this card into the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge * and Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  Pop on over and have a go yourself.

*Ooops – I popped on over to enter my card and found that I had missed the deadline by an hour – not to worry I still enjoyed the colour combo!

See you soon.

Triple Treat Flower

Gosh…what a week it has been! I can’t believe all of the things that have happened the past week and it’s been a bit of a roller coaster. Not to mention the non stop rain at the moment!  So…what do you do when it’s raining and you need to de-stress after a difficult week? Craft of course!

I’ve made a few items this weekend and I’ll share them over the next few days. The first is the birthday card below I made for my son’s gorgeous friend who turned 16 on the 29th. She is like a daughter to me so I wanted to create something especially for her. We tend to share our birthdays each year because mine is the 28th so it was nice that she could have her own day for this very special birthday. Mine was a big one too this year. 40 – I can’t believe it! Where does the time go?

Happy Crafting

Happiest Birthday Wishes

I was one super lucky demonstrator this month because, to my fabulous surprise, I received my first birthday card from Stampin’ Up! offering me an extra 15% off my first purchase for the month. So, this along with my usual discount, gave me 35% off anything I wanted – yipee – shopping time! Super excited…I ordered the collection of markers as my pressie from hubby (he loved the idea…of course). OMG! I couldn’t believe it when they arrived…soooo…pretty and they come in a fantastic storage box. They bring back memories of when I just had to have a brand spanking new set of textas every year at back to school time.

Today’s project is a shout out to one of my fab Inkydayz friends who is hosting a workshop during Sale-A-Bration. She loves Concord Crush and when I ordered my markers I chose the exclusive hostess Designer Series Paper – Cheerful Treat as one of my freebies.  Yep, demonstrators get the hostess benefits too!  This paper is so gorgeous and teams up beautifully with Concord Crush and one of my all time faves, Lucky Limeade.

I’ve entered this card in the latest Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and used my brand new markers to stamp the multi-coloured sentiment. What do you think?

Stamp Set: Hostess Set Happiest Birthday Wishes

More Everyday Enchantments Sneak Peeks

Fussy cutting is a technique that I don’t use as much as I should and I thought I’d come back to it today after stumbling upon another challenge blog, SU-Only Challenges

The best thing about fussy cutting is that you don’t need many supplies.  All you need is a set of small super sharp scissors, a steady hand and patience.  Used with Stampin’ Dimensionals, this technique gives your projects dimension and allows you to make the most of your stamp collection.

I have entered today’s project into two challenges Mojo Monday and SU-Only Challenges.
