…be sure to get your order in as there’s only 5 sleeps left.  Boy time flies!  I’ve just realised I haven’t posted at all this month – sorry all – It’s been a bit hectic lately!

I’ve been asked to make some cards for another direct sales friend whom I met recently at a friends party.  She sells Arbonne and I have absolutely fallen in love with the skin care and make up range.  My skin has not look this good in years and people keep telling me I look great so I must be on to a winner.

Anyway…here are two clean and simple cards that showcase the bloomin marvelous Bloomin Marvelous stamp set that I’ve made for her.

Bloomin_Marvelous_Thanks

Stampin Up! Oh Hello Bundle

I’m currently working on a collection of designs for my next class using the gorgeous Oh Hello stamp and framelits bundle.  This is my absolute favourite set in the Occasions catalogue and I’ve loved playing around with the collection, along with a number of other new products that are featured on this card.

Oh Hello Bundle

  • Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point rocks it in the colour stakes.
  • The NEW Borders Scoring Plate for your Simply Scored is a cool tool that allows you to add interest to plain card.  Cut with the matching Framelits to give you a professional finish.

Border Plate and Framelits

  • Sunshine and Sprinkles Chevron DSP as background keeps this design on trend.

  • Make a flower using the Creped Filter Paper.  Here’s HOW:
  1. Layer a rectangle piece of Creped Filter Paper on a piece of copy paper and punch out around 10 scallop circles.
  2. Mix up about 6 drops of Daffodil Delight with Isocol (available from your local chemist) in one of your Stampin Up Spritzers and spray each piece liberally to build up your colour.  Fast drying dye – awesome!
  3. Cut each scallop towards the centre on every second scallop leaving approx 5 mm in the centre.
  4. Gently crumple each scallop, then lay them all on top of each other.
  5. Pierce the centre with your trusty paper-piercing tool.
  6. Pop a 4.8mm brad through to hold them all together.
  7. Gently crumple each layer and arrange to cover your brad until you are happy with how your flower looks.
  8. Use the brad to attach the flower to your sentiment panel.

Workshop Make and Takes

Last weekend a fab group of women made this card as a make and take at one of my workshops.  This was one of two creations that we all made.  This little card is inspired by a creation from our monthly demonstrator newsletter and I just had to CASE it.

Supplies
Stamp Set:
Just Believe
nk:  Basic Gray, So Saffron, Basic Gray and Baja Breeze Markers
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Grey, So Saffron, Baja Breeze Patterns DSP
Fabulous Flourishes: Antique Brads, Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Crystal Effects, Baja Breeze Ribbon
Tools: Paper Cutter, Square Punch (for the banner), Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Snips
Sticky Bits: Snail

Don’t you just love how a few bits and bobs come together to make something special.  I didn’t have the stamps used in the original but that’s what is so great about this little design – you can use so many different items and colours to change it up.  Don’t have the ribbon?  Why not use pleated paper?  Don’t have the brad?  A button would be a great alternative.  No glitter?  Well…you can not use it at all…but really…I think you might need to buy some because glitter is pretty special. There’s nothing like glitter to bring back those primary school memories.  I used the stamp set, Just Believe, especially for one of my face-book followers.  I hope she likes it.

If you would like to host a workshop, there’s still time to earn Sale-a-Bration freebies (ends 31 March).  It’s a great way to get a group of friends together, enjoy some craft and earn some great hostess benefits.  Click on the workshop tab above for more deets or email me today to find out more:  tania_willis@bigpond.com or call 0401173203.

Happy stamping!

Petal Cone Die

So…what do you get when you team up the petal cone die with window sheets?  A gorgeous gift box of course!

This little giftie was made especially for todays workshop hostess.  Now this particular hostess loves Stampin’ Up!  In fact, this hostess is the person that introduced me to Stampin’ Up! when she invited me to my first ever workshop in June last year.  I had never even heard of Stampin’ Up! until that day and when I laid eyes on the catalogue…well…lets just say…I felt like a kid in a candy store.

I wanted to make something simple, yet a little different and, in my opinion, colourful candy needs to be in a transparent box.  That’s when ‘clear take out box’ popped into my head.  I haven’t spotted one anywhere else before so I thought I’d give it a go.  Teamed up with the Sweet Shop Paper from the soon to be released Autumni-Winter Mini Catalogue makes a winning combination.  What do you think?

After I used my trusty big shot to cut out the clear sheets – my first thought was that it’s too plain. So…what does one do when something is too plain? You guessed it, you emboss it! Add a handmade tag and some ribbon and there you have it – a sweet little candy box filled to the brim with colourful treats to say thank you.

Workshop Rewards

Hello everyone

I hope you have been enjoying your weekend. I have been super busy creating a homemade lucky door prize for my next workshop.  I’m super pleased with this creation and I hope the person that wins it loves it as much as I do.

Inspiration for the gift cards came from a fab little blog hosted by Debby Hughes called Lime Doodle.  Isn’t that a great name?  The little banners caught my eye and I just had to use them on this set.  I made them by cutting 1cm x 3cm strips from scraps of my current favourite paper.  I then used the 3.2cm square punch to punch the tails.  It takes a bit of lining up to get it right but is much neater and easier than using snips.

Miss Fancy Pants provided me with inspiration for the gift holder.  I have changed the measurements on mine to ensure the gift cards and envelopes fit.  I cut a 9cm strip of the designer series paper.  I scored across at 9cm, 13cm and 22cm and rounded off the end at 24.5cm using one of my large ribbon holders to mark up.  Here is the template.

I have tied ribbon around the top of the lower flap and the top flap slides behind the ribbon to close.  You may also notice that I have positioned the tag so that the flap can be held behind it to keep it all in place.  I’ve tied the gift cards and envelopes onto the holder using ribbon.  I will share another example tomorrow where I have tied a cellophane bag filled with Easter eggs on to the back of the holder.

I’ve entered the holder into the CAS-ual Friday challenge

Water Colouring

My new year’s resolution was to participate in at least one blog challenge a week in the hope of ensuring that no matter how busy my working week is I would be sure to get some crafting time every week. Well…it’s only the first month of 2012 and I have already missed a week. Not too worry…this week I’ve decided to enter several challenges to make up for it. I love challenges because they help me to create, particularly on those days when I’m stumped and don’t know where to start. Lately, I’m finding sketch challenges the best because they allow me to team up my own colours, stamps and paper whilst giving me a starting point.

This week, I am going to use each challenge to show you some simple techniques to make the most of your stash. My last two challenge entries, showcased fussy cutting, used to create dimension and depth to my projects. Today’s technique is water colouring and I’ve entered this card in the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 225. All you need to get started is an ink pad and a blender pen.

And here is the sketch

Summer Mini Catalogue Sneak Peek

Wow! I can’t believe it has been nearly 10 days since I last caught up with you. I’ve been super busy this week preparing for my Summer Mini Catalogue Launch and I can’t wait to share some gorgeous creations with you.

Now…I haven’t forgotten my promise of a sneak peek of what’s in the Summer Mini and I have finished several projects and will share one each day leading up to the launch. The only problem is I seem to be stuck on one item…a gorgeous designer series paper called Spice Cake that I just can’t seem to stop using. This paper goes perfectly with my most recent new stamp purchase…Triple Treat Flower. I can’t believe I have never noticed this stamp in the catalogue before. It’s wonderful and is the perfect design for layering using the Fancy Flower and 5- Flower punches.  I have been working on so many projects with this DSP that I realised that if I didn’t stop soon, I would run out of supplies needed for the launch!

On another note…I think the name of this fab DSP has inspired me to cook and I have also made gingerbread Christmas cookies for an evening of stamping fun planned for our Avid Inkers group meet next week. Can you believe it? My dear hubby had the hide to ask me ‘What’s with the sudden interest in cooking again?’ How rude! You would think I never cook! I must say he has a point I have been working long hours in my day job and he has been so wonderful preparing our meals.

Soooo…back on to the subject of the day. Here’s my first share over the next seven days. This is a CASE from the extraordinarily talented Mary Fish . Her work is so beautiful and as soon as I spotted this card, I just had to make it. In fact this will be one of the items that we will make at the launch next Sunday.

Stop by tomorrow for another sneak peek or better yet, why not subscribe?  That way you will get updates direct to your in-box.

Circle Circus

Hi everyone

I recently gave this card to one of my customers as a thank you for her support.  It is a CASE of a design by Angela McKay. I love the beautiful colours, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait – they just look sooo gorgeous together.  The stamp set is Circle Circus which was part of my demonstrator kit and this was the first time I used it (naughty, I know).  I will be using it much more often now using as many different colour combos as I can.

If you would like to know more about how to make this card, email me at tania_willis@bigpond.com for the deets.

Happy stamping
