Welcome to Project Life
Get ready for a scrapbooking revolution with Project Life! It helps busy people (so basically all of us) document life using photos and journaling in a quick, simple, and fabulous way. We’ve partnered with Becky Higgins, creator of Project Life, to offer a complete line of elite products.
Becky explains, “It’s called Project LIFE because it’s about YOUR LIFE. Whatever your life is. Whatever your stage of life. Whatever your family circumstances. Whatever your lifestyle. Project Life is designed to help anyone and everyone get their pictures into a book.” In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.
Colour your world happy with the new Blendabilities!
At our last Avid Inkers meeting we learnt about colour blocking using card stock and I’ve finally had the chance to give it a go. Love love love it! It’s a very easy way to use up some of your scraps and have fun with colour.
If you would like to give colour blocking a go, check out the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers.

I’m currently working on a collection of designs for my next class using the gorgeous Oh Hello stamp and framelits bundle. This is my absolute favourite set in the Occasions catalogue and I’ve loved playing around with the collection, along with a number of other new products that are featured on this card.
- Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point rocks it in the colour stakes.
- The NEW Borders Scoring Plate for your Simply Scored is a cool tool that allows you to add interest to plain card. Cut with the matching Framelits to give you a professional finish.
- Sunshine and Sprinkles Chevron DSP as background keeps this design on trend.
- Make a flower using the Creped Filter Paper. Here’s HOW:
- Layer a rectangle piece of Creped Filter Paper on a piece of copy paper and punch out around 10 scallop circles.
- Mix up about 6 drops of Daffodil Delight with Isocol (available from your local chemist) in one of your Stampin Up Spritzers and spray each piece liberally to build up your colour. Fast drying dye – awesome!
- Cut each scallop towards the centre on every second scallop leaving approx 5 mm in the centre.
- Gently crumple each scallop, then lay them all on top of each other.
- Pierce the centre with your trusty paper-piercing tool.
- Pop a 4.8mm brad through to hold them all together.
- Gently crumple each layer and arrange to cover your brad until you are happy with how your flower looks.
- Use the brad to attach the flower to your sentiment panel.

So…my pre-order of the Autumn-Winter Mini arrived last week and boy have I been having fun today! The best thing is it’s a long weekend here in Canberra which means more time to spend crafting. If only I didn’t have to do the housework! Anyway….enough about me.
You might remember one of my earlier posts where I had a go at marker layering. Today, I used this technique on the soon to be released Bordering on Romance stamp set. I kept the card fairly simple to keep the focus on the colouring. I enjoyed using this technique with this set so much I just couldn’t stop at one. So, I decided to make an in-colour set. What do you think?
The Bordering on Romance stamp set is from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue which will be available April 1. It’s packed with super sweet stamps (of course), delicious designer series papers, fancy fabric, to die for dies, elegant embossing folders and fabulous flourishes. I know you are going to love it.
Stamps: Bordering on Romance (released April 1), Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Watercolour paper, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait
Ink: Black Staz-on
Markers: Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Regal Rose, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight
Tools: Paper Snips, Paper Cutter, Blender Pen
Fabulous Flourishes: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait Stitched Poly Ribbon, Pearls
Sticky Bits: Snail
The marker layering technique can be found on one of my favourite sites, Splitcoast Stampers. Head on over and give this a go. It’s much easier than you think.
If you would like to receive a copy of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue the day it’s released, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how.
My third technique this week is heat embossing and I’m going to celebrate this technique with a shout out about the Nautical Expedition Stamp Class that our group of local Canberra Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, Avid Inkers, will be hosting in March. This class showcases the heat embossing technique, the Open Sea Stamp Set, Nautical Expeditions Designer Series Paper and Bakers Twine all from the summer mini catalogue.
