Wow…it’s been a busy month. Sooo many wonderful products and sale-a-bration freebies – I have had far too much fun! I’ve had a few workshops, enjoyed a craft night with my Canberra Demonstrator Group, Avid Inkers and this coming weekend, our group is hosting the Nautical Expressions Stamp Camp, using the stamp set that I’m highlighting in this post. I can’t wait for Saturday!
It’s seems like ages since I have entered a challenge so I thought I’d combine a sketch challenge with a colour challenge and really stretch myself whilst making a masculine birthday card for a special family member. For some reason, I find it more difficult when I try to combine two challenges. I’m not sure why but here goes.
*Ooops – I popped on over to enter my card and found that I had missed the deadline by an hour – not to worry I still enjoyed the colour combo!

Gosh…what a week it has been! I can’t believe all of the things that have happened the past week and it’s been a bit of a roller coaster. Not to mention the non stop rain at the moment! So…what do you do when it’s raining and you need to de-stress after a difficult week? Craft of course!
I’ve made a few items this weekend and I’ll share them over the next few days. The first is the birthday card below I made for my son’s gorgeous friend who turned 16 on the 29th. She is like a daughter to me so I wanted to create something especially for her. We tend to share our birthdays each year because mine is the 28th so it was nice that she could have her own day for this very special birthday. Mine was a big one too this year. 40 – I can’t believe it! Where does the time go?

I was one super lucky demonstrator this month because, to my fabulous surprise, I received my first birthday card from Stampin’ Up! offering me an extra 15% off my first purchase for the month. So, this along with my usual discount, gave me 35% off anything I wanted – yipee – shopping time! Super excited…I ordered the collection of markers as my pressie from hubby (he loved the idea…of course). OMG! I couldn’t believe it when they arrived…soooo…pretty and they come in a fantastic storage box. They bring back memories of when I just had to have a brand spanking new set of textas every year at back to school time.
Today’s project is a shout out to one of my fab Inkydayz friends who is hosting a workshop during Sale-A-Bration. She loves Concord Crush and when I ordered my markers I chose the exclusive hostess Designer Series Paper – Cheerful Treat as one of my freebies. Yep, demonstrators get the hostess benefits too! This paper is so gorgeous and teams up beautifully with Concord Crush and one of my all time faves, Lucky Limeade.
I’ve entered this card in the latest Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and used my brand new markers to stamp the multi-coloured sentiment. What do you think?

Fussy cutting is a technique that I don’t use as much as I should and I thought I’d come back to it today after stumbling upon another challenge blog, SU-Only Challenges.
The best thing about fussy cutting is that you don’t need many supplies. All you need is a set of small super sharp scissors, a steady hand and patience. Used with Stampin’ Dimensionals, this technique gives your projects dimension and allows you to make the most of your stamp collection.

What a crazy week last week! I had such a great time sharing my creations for the Summer Mini Launch – I hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed creating them. The launch was a great success and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with some fabulous women. I felt soooo calm and relaxed when I woke up this morning.
So…back to the subject of my post. I have two final creations to share using Spice Cake (for the moment anyway!)
The creation below was the second make and take I shared with our Avid Inkers group. For those of you who don’t know who the Avid Inkers are…well…this is our team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. We meet monthly and I’ve got to say our meetings are the absolute highlight of my month. We meet to simply create, share ideas and organise classes that we run in Canberra. After Christmas, I’ll be sharing a fabulous class we are planning early in 2012 so be sure to check back for the deets.
